Start a Comic Book Shop helps people launch or grow a comic book or collectibles shop. It is operated by Studiocomix, in the Kitchener-Waterloo region of Ontario. This page explains what happens to personal information on startacomicbookshop.com.
What we collect
- When you contact us. If you call (519) 954-3232 or email info@studiocomix.com, we keep what you tell us so that we can answer and, if you go ahead, so that we can do the work.
- When you book a consultation. The booking runs on TidyCal (opens in a new tab), which collects the name, email address and time you give it. Nothing is sent to TidyCal until you follow the booking link; it is a link on this site, not an embedded form.
- When you visit this site. Nothing, unless you accept analytics. This site uses Google Tag Manager, and it does not load until you agree to it — the tag is inert on the page until you choose. Decline, and no script is fetched and no cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time from the banner.
Like every web server, ours records the address of each request, the browser making it and the time. Those logs keep the site working and secure.
The video
The clip on the home page is hosted on this site, not on a video platform. It does not load until you press play, and pressing play contacts nobody but this server.
How we use it
We use what you send us to answer you and to quote for work. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone outside the services below.
Who else sees it
Only the services that run the site: our web host; Google, if you accepted analytics; and TidyCal, if you book. Some of them store information outside Canada, where the laws of that country apply.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept as long as they are useful, and then deleted. If you become a client, we keep what the work and our tax obligations require.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@studiocomix.com and we will answer. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).
